Sitting at the bar at one of the popular lounges in Atlanta, Reece called over the bartender to give him a refill of his double shot of Henny. He had been there for nearly an hour and was already on his fourth cup. He was on his way to the lounge when Ja’Quan, his homie from college, hit his line asking him to link up. Giving him the address to the lounge, Ja’Quan told him that he would be there by six thirty before ending the call. He was cool with the hour and a half wait because he wanted to be alone. Two weeks had passed since the mini therapy session and the confession of his feelings at Serenity’s, and his relationship with Camai was becoming shakier by the day. His sister had been telling him to get to know her more and the things that he’d been learning about her over the past couple of weeks were causing him to look at her differently. He expressed that he wanted a wife that wanted to do more with her life than shop, dine at expensive restaurants, and have her ratchet friends and family coming to their house, possibly stealing their shit. They went back and forth about him being controlling for a few moments before the counselor shut them down. When the topic of kids came up, he mentioned that he wanted a large family to make up for the one he didn't have. The thought of having children with his wife was something that he was looking forward to. That was until Camai firmly stated that she didn't want kids. He stared at her like she was speaking a foreign language and listened to the counselor talk about how marriage is about being able to compromise and how important it is to fulfill the husband's needs and vice versa. Reece listened in disbelief as his fiancée ranted about how kids are too much work and that she wasn't fit to raise them. Once she made it clear that having kids was a definite no for her, she
